Cincinnati Police
District 2
C.A.R.
PROGRAM
With the rate of auto thefts creeping
upwards, the C.A.R. Program is designed to reduce the rate of auto
theft in Cincinnati. This pilot program is currently being tested in District Two and
Anderson Township. If you are the registered owner of an auto and typically do not operate
it between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 5:00 AM, this program is perfect for you.
Once you sign-up for the program you will be mailed a C.A.R. sticker to
adhere to the rear window of your vehicle. If an officer observes your vehicle being
operated during the late night hours he or she will stop it and simply confirm the
operator has privilege to do so. Vehicles found to have unauthorized drivers will be
detained until contact can be made with the registered owner.
You may participate in one of two ways;
Fill out the E-form on-line and we'll mail you a C.A.R. sticker.
Print the E-form off and mail it to us and we'll mail you back a C.A.R. sticker.
Stop by District Two with a completed
form and get a C.A.R. sticker on the spot.
While your insurance typically covers the cost of a stolen auto, nothing can replace the
time and trouble involved in replacing a stolen auto.
