Road Rage:
The following information is provided for informational services only. Special thanks to AAA for providing this information.
DON'T FALL INTO THE ROAD RAGE TRAP!
Remember, these are traffic violations and can often lead to road rage:
Speeding
Following Too Closely
Unsafe Lane Change
Failure To Signal Movement
Reckless Or Careless Driving
When the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety studied more than 10,000 incidents of violent
aggressive driving committed between 1990 and 1996, it found that at least 218 people were
killed and another 12,610 injured when drivers got angry.
The #1 reason given for aggressive driving: "I'M LATE!"
Give yourself plenty of time, which will help avoid frustration and road rage scenarios.
Profile of a Road Rage

Before Reacting in Anger, Think About This...
There are more than 200 million firearms in circulation in the U.S., and many motorists
are carrying those guns.
Every driver on the highway is armed with a weapon more deadly and dangerous than any gun
- a motor vehicle.
Anyone can become an aggressive driver! Old and young, male and female, rich and poor: do
not underestimate the potential for violence in any driver.
There are 1000's of mentally and emotionally disturbed individuals on our roads. Charged
with anger, fear, and personal frustration, and often highly intoxicated, motorists have
maimed and murdered for seemingly trivial reasons. Explanations include "He stole my
parking space," "She kept honking here horn," "He wouldn't let me
pass," and "She gave me the finger."
DON'T . . .
DON'T BE LATE.
DON'T TAILGATE.
DON'T CUT SOMEONE OFF.
DON'T BLOCK PASSING LANE.
DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY.
DON'T GESTURE IN ANGER.
DON'T MAKE EYE CONTACT.
DON'T TRY TO WIN.
DON'T HESITATE TO CALL 911 OR DRIVE TO NEAREST POLICE STATION.
