From the Editor
Digital Directions is currently putting pieces into place to become a more actively updated entity. The editor (me) is busy busy at work for clients and trying to be a new mom, so unfortunately, some things have gone by the wayside, including this magazine. But, since we now know the Techniques column is the most popular - we will expand that area.
Lots of things are -still- in the works for Digital Directions including expanded advertising and sponsorship and contribution opportunities. As the Louisville design community continues to get interested in new media, Directions will grow - but... unfortunately, the best contributors are as busy as the editor!
We want your input! Please read below and use our submission form to provide your input:
Column Sponsorship
We have two local companies working on columns at present. The other columns really lend themselves well to input from more than one person, for example:
- Techniques Tips and tricks in Photoshop, Quark, Freehand/Illustrator and others. A perfect showcase for freelance talent who want to market themselves.
- New Media Interactive multimedia and online stories, case studies, news, tips and tricks. How print designers can start designing for new media. Since there really isn't one company or expert devoted to these issues, at least in Louisville, we are accepting credited submissions from anyone who wants to suggest a topic.
- Connections Links to sites involving magazines, advertising, graphics, photography, software, multimedia, etc. Anyone can submit links via our submission form.
- Art & Type Design issues and resources for today's designers and art directors.
- The Front Lines Service bureau issues - currently being sponsored by Photo Offset. Look for their new article and web pages coming very soon!
