Updated 7-2-08 The water near the locks is in great shape. The water was about a 1/2 foot above pool on Sunday near the Dam. Water color ranges from merky to muddy with more colored water in the shallow flats. There is an aboundunce of fry in the creeks. Deer creek had the recent BFL bring in a bunch of fish that are still pretty dumb, a recent tournament on June 29th had many limits come in from the creek. Spinnerbaits in white and chartruese in tandem blades have been fooling the bass well. Buzzbaits have been working well to get bites but they seem to swat at the lures and not hook up. Jigs and flukes thrown back at the fish and thrown at wood have been producing bigger fish and hooking up the swatters. Water near the Brandenburg area is trechorous with debris everywhere be careful. There has been a few sauger caught in this area as well and hybrids were in the moving water near the Arch plant discharge. I saw one caught in the 6 lb range. The water was moving on the main river hard enough to keep the trolling motor on high to just move along. Catfish have been hitting big live shad and bluegil in the moving water.
