TEHÂMA STEPS UP WITH NEW LINE OF RESORT AND GOLF FOOTWEAR
September 7, 2005 (DENVER) - TEHÂMA’s uphill pace within the apparel industry has sprinted full speed ahead with the introduction of a new line of golf and resort footwear— Tehâma Footwear and Accessories.
Tehâma, the high end golf apparel company that was co-founded by Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood and fashion industry veteran Nancy Haley, has named Sticks, LLC, dba Tehâma Footwear and Accessories, as its partner to design, manufacture, and market a new line of golf and resort footwear and handbags to expand its offerings.
The initial presentation will focus on golf, leisure, and resort shoes for today’s sophisticated Tehâma customer. The men’s and women’s designs exude fashion, comfort, and value through more than 20 different styles, and 200 color/ material variations.
The footwear is launching with the Spring 2006 Tehâma apparel line, and will be marketed and sold by Tehâma Sales Representatives- with deliveries in November, 2005. The colors and fabrications in the shoe collections correspond to Tehâma ’s apparel features, including "Hang’ Em Dry", a moisture wicking feature used in Tehâma ’s garments. Hang ‘Em Dry uses a lining—Foamless Smartec—developed to wick moisture away from the foot.
David Slaughter has been named president of Tehâma Footwear and Accessories, and brings 30 years of experience through his family’s shoe business. Prior to Tehâma, Slaughter was president and founder of Bernardo Shoes. "This is a dream come true," said Slaughter. "This product is worthy of the Tehâma brand, and I am so proud to have the name behind our products."
Slaughter joined forces with Forrest and Toni Covin, veterans in the apparel and home furnishings industry. The inspiration and design for the line comes from Larry Floyd, VP of Design, who brings a wealth of experience as former member of the original staff at Liz Claiborne Footwear and was one of the founders/designers of the ultra successful Brighton Footwear.
"We are so pleased to complement our diverse lifestyle apparel collection with these beautiful and functional shoes," said Nancy Haley, co-founder and CEO for Tehâma. "The shoes reflect the level of quality, detail, and personality of the Tehâma brand, which we’ve worked so hard to establish," said Haley. "We welcome Sticks, Inc. to our family."
