Disk Space Policies

Every customer of IgLou is provided with their own personal workspace area. In this area, you may store electronic mail, articles, programs, and other files of interest. Your workspace is private and may not be viewed by other IgLou members.

However, files which violate international copyright law, illegally obtained files or any information that violates any federal, state or local law, statute or ordinance are strictly prohibited on IgLou. Further, any files that are used or related to any security breaching, hacking, or other disruptive or illegal act are strictly prohibited.

IgLou reserves the right to inspect and/or delete any files in your workspace if there is a suspected violation of these rules.

Electronic Mail

Each customer is given a certain number of megabytes of disk space for storage of incoming electronic mail. Once a mailbox has hit its storage limit, any new messages will have their delivery delayed for up to 3 days. If the disk space still isn't reclaimed within 3 days, all new arrivals will be bounced back to sender.

If you wish to increase your mailbox storage above your plan's default limit, you may submit a request to have your limit raised. There is a recurring monthly charge of $.10 per megabyte.

ShellAccess.COM Personal Workspace

Each customer with UNIX ShellAccess.COM access is given a disk quota of 25 megabytes of disk space called "personal workspace". This space is typically accessed via FTP or by direct access through our UNIX or Shell servers.

There are no extra charges for storing files on IgLou. If you wish to increase your disk quota above 25 megabytes, you may submit a request to have your quota increased. There is a recurring monthly charge of $.10 per Megabyte.

Personal Web Space

Customers with personal webspace receive 50 megabytes of personal webspace storage. This space is reserved for the purpose of storing HTML web files for personal information, hobbies or interest.

This space is typically found in a subdirectory called "homepages" in your personal workspace.

This space may not be used for commercial purposes, defined as any activity that results in monetary or financial gain.

/tmp directories

For customers using our UNIX or Shell servers, each customer may use space in IgLou's /tmp directories at no charge. There is a limit of 25MB per user that may be stored in IgLou's /tmp directories at any given time.
