How much does it cost?
Costs vary depending upon whether you choose to go with
a tour company or to organize your own trip. The best advantage of being
with a tour group is that it frees you of many of the headaches associated
with making a trip overseas, making it much easier on the leaders so they
can enjoy the spiritual aspects of the trip. The biggest advantage of
going it alone is cost. Group tours appear to start at $2,500 or more, but if
you can find a cheap airline ticket, the additional cost of registration
and accommodations above that will only be around $300 per person (exact
registration prices depend on the exchange rate). If you do go with a
travel company, recognize that normally they do not include WYD
registration price in their quote. The WYD registration package that does
not include accomodations or breakfast meals (since those would be part of
a travel agency package) will be approximately $260 above the package
price.
There
will be no official trip through the Cincinnati Archdiocese, but we can
recommend the Diocese of Columbus for those interested in an extended trip
starting at $3,550 per person. Check out the Columbus diocese website at
www.cdeducation.org/oym/wyd2008 for more
information.
Other reputable travel
agencies to consider for your trip include:
Please recognize that prices may not be
as disparate as they first appear. Details of what pricing includes can
vary greatly. We recommend you check into those details before settling on
an agency.
